Ralph Kiner - 1955 :
Hey, we all like the Yankees/Red Sox rivalry, but enough is enough! I'm not saying that a balanced schedule is needed, but I'd like to see it a little less unbalanced. The Ugly: Steroids and Performance Enhancers: Major League Baseball appears to be the only sport that can't get passed this issue. Football has gotten passed this because the main violators are interior players...mostly unknown to the casual fan. There are no records for Offensive Linemen to break. Baseball, on the other hand, is a sport where records mean a great deal on a historic level and when cherished records are broken by those who have been caught or accused of cheating then it becomes a problem on a large public scale. They can keep abusers out of the Hall of Fame, but they can't take away the records. Steroids or not Barry Bonds did break the home run record.

Kids Are Worth the Cost
If you send your child to Prague, he or she can study at three universities with a master's and all costs covered. We have counted, and the monthly cost here is not more than $500. I think the conclusion is that your child is not your master. You can raise your child to be modest in his or her thinking. You can raise a good man with the ability to go to college even without going to private schools. You do not always have to buy him or her the latest cloths. It's always your choice. You shouldn't take others' opinions as rules for your behavior and raising your children. .
California payrolls shrink in January
The January job figures followed a revised gain of 11,400 jobs in December, the Employment Development Department said. Revised annual job figures showed the state added only 14,900 payroll jobs in the 12-month period ended Jan. 31, a paltry 0.1 percent increase. The once-booming construction sector accounted for the most job cuts, shedding 69,300 positions, a 7.6 percent annual drop. "These revisions, while not unexpected, highlight the probability that economic growth in 2008 will be lower than expected, which in turn will intensify the pressures on state and local budgets," Stephen Levy, director of the Center for Continuing Study of the California Economy, wrote in a research brief. Gov. Arnold Schwarzenegger said he planned to spend more than $10 million on job training for construction workers left idle due to the housing slump.
Religious bigotry factor in politics
In South Carolina, the conservatives couldn't decide whether it was better to vote their religion or their politics, giving McCain the win.Florida came up. The press had anointed McCain the man, a winner, a hero. Giuliani, who expected to come into Florida as the press's favorite child, had now been eclipsed by McCain. He was now "the loser," who miscalculated. Even though Huckabee got less than half the votes of Romney, if Romney could have just picked up 37 percent of Huckabee's voters, he would have beaten McCain. Remember the surveys which found that about half of Protestants had an unfavorable view of Mormons, and Huckabee already had shown a talent for exploiting this bigotry. On Super Tuesday, West Virginia was reported early. Romney won the popular vote, but didn't get enough to take the state by primary rule.McCain and Huckabee's campaigns huddled behind closed doors and McCain threw his voters over to Huckabee, giving him the state. Why? Because they both despise Romney.
